The Civil Protection system is a coordinated effort of different structures that ensure prevention and emergency management activities at the regional level.
Regional Functional Centre (CFMR)
The Regional Functional Centre monitors the territory, analyzes data from different monitoring systems, evaluates risks and issues alerts.
Regional Operational Room
The Situation Room operates 24/7 and is the regional emergency management hub, assessing events, coordinating with local authorities and services and activating the Regional Civil Protection system in case of emergency.
Emergency Coordination Centers
In Italy, emergency responses are coordinated from municipal to regional and national levels, depending on the severity of the crisis. The Mayor is the first authority involved.
